Our advice to both dealers and consumers is to look for jewelry pieces with diamonds of SI1 and SI2 or VS1 and VS2 clarity. Metals - a wide array of metals are used in jewelry. Whether your jewelry is a valuable one or simply something that you got from the flea market, surely it won't hurt to take care of it properly for it to last and probably still be in good condition to be given as an heirloom.

Explanation of Cut, Color and Clarity of This Diamond
Cut Quality The ideal cut diamond is a very precise mathematical equation, where diamond proportions and angles are cut to optimize the diamond's superlative optical properties, in particular it's high refractive index and color dispersion, to create a diamond of unequaled beauty with perfect balance of brilliance and fire. In layman's terms, the diamond is cut to make it the most beautiful diamond so it retains its intrinsic value.
Color Slight presence of color may be detected in F color graded diamonds by an expert gemologist. The diamonds of this grade are considered colorless. Great choice for the purist. Look for a fluorescence rating of faint, inert, none, or negligible.
Clarity VS2 Clarity diamonds are very slightly included grade two. VS2 diamonds have minor inclusions that are visible at 10x magnification. They are less expensive than the VS1 clarity grade because they exhibit slightly more inclusions. VS2 clarity diamonds make excellent choices for jewelry because the naked eye will not be able to detect any inclusions.
